Memorial Gathering

Dear Friends,

For over 30 years Tom O'Rourke was a leader in the movements for peace and social justice in the Philadelphia region. When Tom died on January 31st we all lost a mentor, a comrade, and a good friend. Tom embodied the dignity and strength of nonviolence. He led by tireless example, not by self-promotion.

  • Although he was soft-spoken, his voice was always strong and clear.
  • Although he was patient, he was always persistent in demanding justice.
  • Although he was humble, he was a bright light in the darkness.

On April 19th we are inviting those folks who struggled with Tom for peace, for disarmament, and for restorative justice to join us at Friends Center to celebrate his life. Please come to share your memories, stories, and prayers. Let's all pay tribute to this man of peace.
